22-26 January in the Kauaeranga Valley
Our gathering in the summer of 2012 was held in the Kauaeranga Valley, near Thames, around the theme of “We make the path by walking”. The programme was a mixture of led sessions and open plan discussions with plenty of space for participants to contribute, either as part of someone else’s session or by setting up a session of their own.
Inspirational guest participants at the 2012 gathering included:
- John Seed – Deep Ecologist and rainforest defender, Director of Rainforest Information Centre which successfully campaigned to save the sub-tropical rainforests of New South Wales. He is also a prominent figure in the deep ecology movement and co-creator of the Council of All Beings, and other re-earthing processes.
- Niki Harré – Associate Professor in Psychology at Auckland University, lecturer in Psychology and Sustainability and author of ‘Psychology for a Better World’.
- Margaret Jefferies – Project Lyttelton community organiser.
